I’ve reviewed two 3-in-1 sets last year, and I must say, I love the theme. The set-up is simple: You buy 1 box of parts, and get instructions (all on paper) for 3 models, often with a common theme. Usually, the sets are not licensed, like with Star Wars or Disney Princess sets, so the price is relatively low. For the 31118-1 Surfer Beach House, it comes down to 8.8 $cents per part. I’m always amazed how a designer is able to get multiple models out of a single pile of parts, and from the sets I’ve build, the models are of good quality. There is a hit-and-miss from time to time, but overall, you get your money’s worth.
