Happy November! November is Family Engagement Month, and we are celebrating with a brand-new Kahoot!

How does FIRST® LEGO® League support family engagement?  

Families who participate together in FIRST® LEGO® League discover the power of curiosity, creativity, and problem solving, building the foundation for life-long confidence in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) learning. Students and their families can build new experiences together they never imagined.

What opportunities does FIRST LEGO League provide for family engagement? 

As part of Discover Class Pack registration, every student is provided with a Discover More set that includes two sets of Six Bricks. These sets are a tool for children and their families to practice their memory, movement, creativity, and more through short, fun, playful activities using just six LEGO® DUPLO® four-by-six bricks.

New this season, family engagement activities are available for every MASTERPIECE^SM session! Available on the Season Resources page, these activities are intended as fun, at-home activities for students and their families to complete together. 

Families can reinforce the learning in all FIRST LEGO League divisions by asking their students to share what they learned or accomplished after every season.  

In FIRST® LEGO® League Explore and FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge, families are encouraged to ask the coaches or teachers how they can help. They might serve as mentors, experts in the season’s topic, event volunteers, or help supply snacks and transportation. Teams can even do a practice presentation for their families before they attend events. There’s a future of endless possibilities for family engagement!
