LEGO have revealed the long awaited LEGO Legend of Zelda set: 77092 Great Deku Tree 2-in-1.

The set features 2500 and 4 minifigures; one Zelda and three different versions of Link.

Unexpectedly the set has been designed as a 2-in-1 set allowing you to build the Deku tree as it appears in either Ocarina of Time or Breath of the Wild. While this is great in theory it does mean you are paying for parts you may not use, which brings me to the real issue… price.

The Australian RRP for this set is $449.99 which seems high looking at the end result. It might look more substantial in person but I am underwhelmed for that price.

It is the same price as the 4014 piece Natural History Museum and $50 more than the 3304 piece Medieval Town Square. I know that those examples are both unlicenced sets they still represent much better value.

If you aren’t put off by the price you will be able to get your Deku Tree from September 1st. You can pre-order now but is that money really better sitting in LEGO’s bank account than yours?
