With A Little Creativity And A Small Budget, You Too Can Bring Dune To Your Living Room
Dune Part 2 has easily become one of the biggest hits of this year in terms of a blockbuster movie that also has the appearance of a best-picture flick. And with it, there is significant overlap between LEGO® fans, sci-fi nerds, and crazed Dune-lore experts. With the LEGO® Dune Ornithopter and its hefty price tag, I wanted more than what was contained within the set. I wanted to build something on my own — particularly, Stilgar and the Fremen.
How To Build Your Own Custom Fremen LEGO® Minifigure
Knowing where to shop and understanding what you will need can make all the difference in creating a LEGO® Fremen minifigure to add to your Dune MOC. However, if you are going to create a custom LEGO® minifigure, you need to set aside a small budget for its completion.
I currently like to use Amazon to source many of my LEGO® minifigure parts for two reasons: 1) There is a lot of buyer protection 2) It is really easy to package all of the accessories into one shipment.
What You Are Going To Need To Build Your Fremen Or Stilgar Minifigure MOC
I am going to break this part down into three parts: 1) What this part can be used for 2) It’s estimated cost 3) An Amazon image showing you the piece/minifigure/part.

This helps to complete the wardrobe of the Dune minifigure and make the LEGO® minifigure feel more authentic.

Standard Brown LEGO® Hood:
Again, this part adds to the physical cloth that Fremen wear in the desert and makes the minifigure feel more authentic.
Estimate Cost $4-$5
LEGO® Samurai X Ninjago Minifigure:
The silver/grey short sword here is a nice addition to the Fremen’s weaponry. Any silver/grey LEGO® minifigure accessory shortsword will work here!

The Overall Look And Budget Of Your LEGO® Fremen Minifigure MOC
As long as you are devoted fan, a budget of roughly $60.00 should be a no-brainer if you want to chant “Lisan al Gaib” as you build this LEGO® minifigure MOC. Also, this represents more of a guide than an absolutely necessary purchasing format. I gave you the framework, and now, it is up to you to decide how you fill in the blanks!
