In this article, we’ll look at the top 27 most expensive and valuable LEGO sets of all time ever released in the world. In regards to most expensive, we look at the original LEGO manufacturer retail price. The ranking is based on USD retail price.

We did not consider LEGO secondary market prices. Another thing to note is that there is inflation as well. A $300 retail price LEGO set in 2005 is probably going to retail at a lot higher price in 2021 if it is a similar sized LEGO set. However, we did not consider the inflation in the rankings. We just looked at the exact retail price dollar value that LEGO originally priced the set at.

Some of the more recent sets (i.e released within the last few years) are still available at LEGO Shop at Home (USA | Canada | UK | Australia). Though, many of the older sets are no longer available through the official retail channels where you can get them at retail price. Secondary marketplaces usually have these large and rare LEGO sets priced quite high unfortunately.

Shown below is LEGO Creator Expert 10294 Titanic. The set was released in November 2021 and it has 9090 pieces.

LEGO Star Wars 75192 Millennium Falcon UCS is one of the biggest LEGO Star Wars sets ever made by piece count. It stayed on the list for 3 years as the biggest set. It features the massive re-creation in LEGO form of the famous Millennium Falcon from the Star Wars universe.

This is by far one of the most expensive LEGO set ever created. It surpasses the price of even the LEGO Creator Expert 10276 Colosseum despite it being a bigger set than the Millennium Falcon.

At the price point of $849.99 USD / $1049.99 CAD / £734.99 GBP / $1299.99 AUD, the LEGO Star Wars 75192 Millennium Falcon UCS is definitely at a heavy price tag. The set was released in September 2017 for LEGO VIPs early access and was made more widely available in October 2017.

LEGO Star Wars 75192 Millennium Falcon UCS contains 7541 pieces and is recommended for those that are aged 16+. LEGO Star Wars fans would definitely love this realistic set. 

2) LEGO Star Wars 75313 AT-AT Walker Ultimate Collector Series (UCS) 2021 

LEGO Star Wars 75313 AT-AT Walker UCS 2021 is part of the Ultimate Collector Series. It contains 6785 pieces and 9 minifigures (General Veers, Luke Skywalker, Snowtrooper Commander, 4 Snowtroopers and 2 AT-AT Drivers). At 6785 pieces, its a massive set. The set measures over 24.5 inches high, 27 inches long and 9.5 inches wide. 

Details from the LEGO Ultimate Collector Series AT-AT 2021 include cannons that rotate, moveable and poseable legs, Rotating cannons and a bomb bay for realistic action. It has a CONTROL+ app so you can play with the remote and see the realistic movements.

LEGO Technic model set that is over 39 inches high.

The 18+ LEGO Star Wars 75331 The Razor Crest UCS 2022 set is from the Star Wars The Mandalorian series. You can lift off the top of the ship and engines. There is a detailed interior with sleeping quarters and removable cockpit. There’s also cargo compartment that has weapons, carbon freezing chamber that is minifigure size, side hatches, escape pod that really detaches and more.

A display info plaque for the set is also available. The set contains 6187 pieces and is recommended for those that are aged 18+.

The set is based on the Avengers Age of Ultron movie and features the Hulkbuster MK44. There’s a spacious cockpit and has a LEGO Tony Stark minifigure. A information plate for the set is also included. The body for the model is fully jointed and it has three arc reactors. The reactors are located in the chest and on each hand.

LEGO remade this Millennium Falcon UCS set in 2017 and that set contains 7541 pieces. LEGO Star Wars 10179 Millennium Falcon UCS was released in July 2007.

12) LEGO Star Wars 75159 Death Star UCS (Ultimate Collector Series) – 2016 Version

LEGO Star Wars 75159 Death Star UCS (2016 Version) contains 4016 pieces and is priced at $499.99 USD. It was a relaunch of the LEGO Star Wars 10188 Death Star UCS (2008 Version).

There are some minor changes to this latest version as well as the box rebranding. Of course, the price is also $100 USD more expensive than the previous version. However, its expected considering there’s inflation. LEGO Star Wars 75159 Death Star UCS was released for LEGO VIPs early access in September 2016 and in October 2016 for the general public. 

The recommended aged for this set is 14+. It features lots of play functions and features from many of the different Star Wars movies. Kids and adults will definitely enjoy building and playing with this set.

13) 18+ LEGO Harry Potter 76405 Hogwarts Express Train Collectors’ Edition

18+ LEGO Harry Potter 76405 Hogwarts Express Collectors’ Edition 2022 release date is Summer August 31st, 2022 for USA, Canada, UK and Australia regions. This is a day just before Fall September 1st, 2022. 

The 18+ LEGO Hogwarts Steam Train set contains 5129 pieces and is recommended for those that are aged 18+. This is a 1:32 replica scale model. It has the Platform 9¾ from the King’s Cross Train Station. The train features the engine, carriage and coal tender.

There are three light bricks in the three compartment passenger carriage too. Each compartment has a classic LEGO Harry Potter scene. The lever located at the top of the engine can really turn and make the motion of a steam train.

The set also has some train tracks as well as an info display plaque for the model too. 18+ LEGO Harry Potter 76405 Hogwarts Express Collectors’ Edition 2022 measures over 10.5 inches high, 46.5 inches long and 8 inches wide.

18+ LEGO Marvels 76269 Avengers Tower was released back in November 2023. The instantly recognizable Avengers headquarters is an iconic building. It is over 35.5 inches

19) LEGO Technic 42100 Liebherr R 9800 Excavator

LEGO Technic 42100 Liebherr R 9800 Excavator can be operated with the LEGO Technic Control + App. It has lots of realistic functions and features.

You can rotate the superstructure, move forward and backward and use the boom and bucket. This all can be done with the LEGO Technic remote control app. The set measures 15 inches high, 25 inches long and 10 inches wide. 

This would make a nice gift for a LEGO Technic fan. LEGO Technic 42100 Liebherr R 9800 Excavator was released in October 2019. The set contains 4108 pieces and is recommended for those that are aged 12+.

20) LEGO Harry Potter 75978 Diagon Alley

Unlike the LEGO Harry Potter 71043 Hogwarts Castle, this LEGO Harry Potter set is in minifigure scale. It includes several separate Harry Potter buildings.

18+ LEGO Technic 42131 App-Controlled Cat D11 Bulldozer has features like a real bulldozer.
These include adjustable tracks and realistic movements to control the ladder, blade and ripper.

23) LEGO Star Wars 10188 Death Star UCS (Ultimate Collector Series) – 2008 Version

LEGO Star Wars 10188 Death Star UCS (2008 Version) was launched back in 2008. It was one of the first Ultimate Collector Series (UCS) style sets that featured lots of minifigures and tons of playability. There are many rooms in this set where you can recreate the Star Wars action.

After this set was discontinued, LEGO quickly relaunched a new 2016 version known as LEGO Star Wars 75159 Death Star UCS. Its essentially almost the exact same set as the 2008 version but with a higher price tag. LEGO Star Wars 10188 Death Star UCS was released in June 2008. 

LEGO Star Wars 10188 Death Star UCS (2008 version) contains 3803 pieces and is recommended for those that are aged 14+.

24) LEGO Star Wars 75309 UCS Republic Gunship

LEGO Star Wars UCS 75309 Republic Gunship 2021 contains 3292 pieces and is recommended for those that are aged 18+. Two minifigures including Clone Trooper Commander and Mace Windu are included in the set.

With the LEGO Star Wars 75309 Republic Gunship 2021, you can recreate Star Wars: Clone Wars scenes from the Battle of Geonosis. Details of the low altitude assault transport (LAAT) include pilot cockpits and long wings. There is a rear hatch and opening sides as well. Measures over 13 inches high, 27 inches long and 29 inches wide.

25) LEGO Icons Fairground Collection 10303 Loop Coaster

18+ LEGO Icons 10303 Loop Coaster includes one train with boarding station. You can upgrade to a motorized elevator lift with LEGO Powered Up Functions (sold separately). The lift tower allows you to bring the car to the very top. There are two loops in this roller coaster set.

Other details include balloon cart, park bench, pretzel cart, control panel and more. 

There are 11 LEGO minifigures included in the set. The set measures over 36 inches high, 33.5 inches wide and 13.5 inches deep. This set was released on July 5, 2022.

LEGO Icons 10303 Loop Coaster did not get a price increase from the LEGO Summer August 2022 Price Hike. It contains 3756 pieces and is recommended for those that are aged 18+.

LEGO Icons 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle is from the original classic LEGO castle theme. There are many cool stuff like hidden passages and hideouts, drawbridge, mill, towers and more. There are 22 LEGO minifigures so that you can create Castle medieval scenes. The castle measures over 14 inches high, 17 inches wide and 12 inches deep when closed.

18+ LEGO Icons 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle Summer 2022 release date is Summer August 3rd, 2022 for LEGO VIPs early access. LEGO VIP is a free rewards program that anyone can join. The general global release date is August 8th, 2022.

The set contains 4514 pieces and is recommended for those that are aged 18+. Castle fans would definitely find joy in this set where they can recreate many knight adventures.

LEGO Creator Expert 10261 Roller Coaster allows you to recreate your amusement park adventure in LEGO style. The set features a fully functional chain-lift model with 2 roller coaster trains. You can get power functions (extra cost) to enable a motorized chain lift.

Remember to have lots of space to display this masterpiece. LEGO Creator Expert 10261 Roller Coaster was released in May 2018 for LEGO VIPs early access and later to the general public in June 2018.
