Beyond enjoying LEGO® building, I’m partial to a bit of gaming and my platform of choice is PlayStation. Next month will see Sony’s cute little Astro Bot return in a fully-fledged platformer after being the star of a couple of shorter technical showcases such as Playroom and Rescue Missions. A few days ago, I got the urge to recreate Astro Bot in LEGO form and what better way to do so than via the versatile media of BrickHeadz? Astro Bot’s appearance is perfectly suited to the unique style of the collectable range of brick-built characters. So I dived into my bucket of bricks, storage trays of leftover elements and browsed BrickLink to craft my Astro Bot BrickHeadz. Below is the result, which I’m rather chuffed with. The design is based on a playable version of the character who sports blue trim to the outer shell and a cape. Instead of the usual pink brick brain, I’ve included a mini PS5-themed brain. It’s not very often I get to build stuff beyond real sets, but it’s always fun when I do get a chance to get a little creative even in this basic way. Astro Bot will be available on PlayStation 5 from September 6th.
