There are six unique, retired LEGO® Harry Potter Book Sets from the “Hogwarts Moments” subtheme that made its way onto retail shelves and our bookshelves from 2021-2022:

LEGO® Hogwarts Moment 76382: Transfiguration Class

LEGO® Hogwarts Moment 76383: Potion Class

LEGO® Hogwarts Moment 76384: Herbology Class

LEGO® Hogwarts Moment 76385: Charms Class

LEGO® Hogwarts Moment 76396: Divination Class

LEGO® Hogwarts Moment 76397: Defence Against The Dark Arts Class

So, what made these sets such a cult hit? I think the best answer is the collapsable nature, the ability to connect these books together, and the overlap of fans who love the hardcover versions of the actual books. Due to their entirely fun and unique LEGO® design, they make a wicked cool display piece.

76382 Hogwarts Moment: Transfiguration Class

The front cover of this LEGO® set has a Latin quote, “draco dormiens nunquam titillandus,” which translates to “Never tickle a sleeping dragon.” This quote is a wonderful way to begin the brown and yellow brick-bound transfiguration class.

Just like the books and movies, this class is led by Professor McGonagall and has Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley as her eager students — just like a scene cut out from the movie! And, with just 241 pieces, you will be done constructing this in under an hour.

76383 Hogwarts Moment: Potion Class

This is another quick build with 271 pieces and three excellent minifigures: Severus Snape with a finely printed raised eyebrow, Seamus with the iconic black soot marks on his face post-cauldron explosion, and Draco with a sinister smirk.

The interior design of this book is one of my favorites as the cauldron station has this awesomely molded green-bubble piece that gives this set a realistic feel.

76384 Hogwarts Moment: Herbology Class

The duller, outer-beige of this LEGO® Harry Potter Hogwarts Moment is deceiving. Inside, there is a marvelous movie display of Professor Sprout, Neville Longbottom, and Cedric Diggory LEGO® minifigures experimenting with mandrakes — the same shrieking Harry Potter creature that made Neville pass out.

When you open the set, a sprawling scene of herbology, finely printed minifigures, and green-and-brown hues from the plant features come to life. With only 270 pieces and 3 minifigures and just under an hour of build time, I was thoroughly impressed with the design of this Harry Potter LEGO® book!

A Bonus: The lil’ LEGO® pumpkins in Professor Sprouts classroom are 10/10.

LEGO® 76384 Hogwarts Moment: Herbology Class

76385 Hogwarts Moment: Charms Class

Of the three LEGO® minifigures in this set, Professor Flitwick is without a doubt the highlight. His finely printed, lime-green torso, expressive face, and beard neckpiece are lovely! And yes, the Harry Potter and Cho Chang minifigures are great additions to the line-up as well.

The blue, steel-grey allure of the plastic-bound Hogwarts Moment makes it subtly stand out from the rest in the series. At 256 pieces, it has one of the lowest piece counts of the Hogwarts Moments set. However, the display of the light brown LEGO® pieces that comprise the furniture of this set is excellent!

LEGO® 76385 Hogwarts Moment: Charms Class

76396 Hogwarts Moment: Divination Class

This is the most colorful of the six, with a purple and yellow bound book. While the inside is a bit barren from the 271-piece count, the colors cannot be overstated. This one immediately catches your eye.

It clocks in at just under an hour to build, and the unique Professor Trelawney and Parvati Patil are an excellent addition to the Divinations Class Hogwarts Moment set. And yes, you get a Harry Potter minifigure as well!

Like in the photo, my favorite parts of this set are the tea kettle and cup, which help predict Harry’s grave future when Tralawney goes into a trance!

LEGO® 76396 Hogwarts Moment: Divination Class

76397 Hogwarts Moment: Defense Against The Dark Arts Class

This is one of fans most beloved classes from the series, but how does it stand as a LEGO® Harry Potter book? The yellow and black inlay of the cover give it yellow-jacket coloring, which stands out and makes it arguably the most menacing of the books.

With 257 pieces, you would expect a less-detailed iteration. However, it is wonderful crafted in under an hour with the black coverings contrasting against the light brown and beige classroom setting. The biggest call out here is the Madeye Moody minifigure and the prints of the LEGO® art for the class within.

Don’t worry, you also receive two more minifigures with Hermione Granger and Neville Longbottom.
